I've been doing this since the era of the

tag. My first websites were chock full of tables and font tags.
I much prefer developing in the age of CSS & ES6.
Including some of the biggest in the world: allrecipes.com, people.com, ew.com, parents.com
I'm nerdy about lots of things. Here's a random sampling of my interests: ancient languages, Star Wars*, Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, llamas, trapeze.
I have 20+ years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining all aspects of website code. I've worked on everything from massively scaled content-driven sites like allrecipes.com, ew.com and parents.com, to state-wide public television networks like iptv.org, to minimalist web sites for individuals and small businesses. You name it; I've probably played with it.
I’ve spent much of the last decade working primarily in Javascript, NodeJS, Python, and head-down in the world of deployment automation. I have experience in a number of different front and back-end technologies, and I enjoy adapting to newer frameworks and methodologies. I prioritize performance, accessibility, test coverage, and scalability in my code.
I have years of experience working with display advertising, online video, third-party web services and their APIs, and popular content management systems like Drupal and WordPress as well as building custom ones from scratch. I learn quickly, adapt to new technologies with ease and enjoy mentoring others.
I break things, then fix them... usually in that order.
Me, describing what I do
Long before the phrase "full-stack developer" was a thing, I got my start on the web doing it all. I've floated between front and back-end development for most of my career.
I've flown from one side of this Internet to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff. Whatever you've got, I betcha can handle it.

In my spare time, I hang upside down on things. I've been performing and teaching as a professional aerialist in the Midwest since 2015. My specialty is static or dance trapeze, but I also perform on silks, sling, and lyra.
I'm also the creator of An Aerialist's Agenda, a notebook/planner designed for aerialists.
